MEET THE TEAM
WRITER/DIRECTOR
Jesahel Newton
Born in Cuenca, Ecuador, and studied Multimedia and Audiovisual Production, majoring in animation and film. Before graduating, she worked as a freelance 3D animator, designer, and illustrator. In 2016 she took a course on Film for Social Transformation by the renowned director Mr. Mohsen Makhmalbaf, where she received a grant to produce and direct her script. She is now working towards an MFA in Film Directing and Screenwriting at Columbia University, where she continues honing her skills as a filmmaker and storyteller.
PRODUCER
Molly Evans
Molly Evans is a film producer based in New York City. She is currently pursuing her masters with a concentrate in Producing at Columbia University’s Film Program. This past year Molly produced The Hole as well as five other short films and wishes to continue building her relationships at Columbia for the future. While these films are all currently entering the festival circuit, she is thrilled to be working on her next project with Jesahel, Pomegranate. Her web series, Dating in Retrograde, premiered in winter of 2018 as an Official Selection at the Winter Film Awards in New York City.
